I am on a journey. I am ever-changing… hopefully improving! Not the same as yesterday or last year, I’m seeking to be more by tomorrow.
“Not that I have already attained this – that is, I have not already been perfected – but I strive to lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me.” Philippians 3:12 NET
What does He want of me? To be: more and more like Him! Close with the Father, walking in His love and grace. Living for His glory. Full of Mercy.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have attained this (perfection). Instead I am single-minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead,” Philippians 3:13 NET
It’s a Quest – asking, seeking, knocking daily before God until I find a way through life that is pleasing to Him. Peace doesn’t always come at first, but it does come. I don’t always get it right the first time around. So I keep striving.
“with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 NET
The goal is maturity. Let go of selfishness. Learn humility. Keep moving forward. And hopefully the person I am tomorrow will out-shine the one today.
