Time away is such a blessing. David and I are again thankful for a trip together this summer. Time to be alone snd reflect especially on all God is doing. This helps to ground us. I personally love reading and Bible study and painting most of the day.
This trip we had family join in shifts (due to space). Each group brought new adventures and insights. I felt stretched -in a good way. Our pastor’s study of Ruth -on God’s timing, His using both good and bad in our lives, and assurance of His overarching purpose… filled my thoughts and my journal. Early on I kept getting a phrase in my head when I’d pray, “trust the process.”
I began to see every situation (blessing or not-blessing) as an opportunity for His process to make me more like Jesus. I had a choice at every moment: yield and grow easily, or resist and make growth hard. Either way I was going to grow -because He promises not to leave me as I am. He WILL complete the good work He has started in me (Philippians 1:6).
Not just for me but for all who follow Jesus. We are His good work that is being completed. Nothing will be wasted, nothing is pointless. We can rest assured He has a plan for us today and trust in His Sovereign Purpose for tomorrow.
“… because of His great love with which He loved us, [He] made us alive with Christ…” Ephesians 2:4-5
Father thank you for Your processes that grow me. Help me to cooperate with you instead of resisting. Make my heart like Jesus’- in His Name I ask. ❤️Anna
