What a beautiful description Revelation 5 gives us of Heaven! Such praise. Can you imagine standing there among those millions described?
“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying:
‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!’” Revelation 5:11-12 NIV
Who is truly worthy? There are heroes and conquerers, good deed doers… but someone deserving ALL Praise, Glory, Power!? This place honor belongs only to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Quite a statement, and one which makes many people uncomfortable. And yet, we will all stand before the Throne of God someday:
“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”
The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.” Revelation 13-14 NIV
Some say we are living in the last days, before the rapture… I don’t know, but as my husband says, Jesus will come for each of us, when it’s our time. So it never hurts to feel an urgency for the souls around me. There is Hope for anyone who calls on the name of Jesus.
I long for the day when I will praise the Lord with all my brothers and sisters in Christ -whole and complete, before the Throne of God. What a celebration that will be! In the meantime, I pray daily for insight, as I search for the words to share my faith and Hope in God. Don’t wait. You are sought-after, valuable, loved.
