I love the story The Hiding Place<\/em>; the life of Corrie ten Boom and her sister Betsy during the Nazi invasion of Holland. They were both arrested for aiding and abetting Jews to escape extermination. Sentenced to a notorious work-camp, Corrie learned, \u201cNo pit is so deep that God is not deeper still.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> What greater pit is there than losing one’s whole family?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like so many other concentration camps, unspeakable evil abounded. To add insult to injury- the overcrowded dormitory they were confined to was full of biting bugs! Corrie complained, but Betsy prayed <\/em>– thanking God for the fleas and lice.<\/strong> Some time later, the women learned those awful vermin had saved them from further horrors. While the cruel soldiers invaded other barracks, this one was skipped over due to infestation<\/em>. Thanking God had proven right! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I feel frustration at circumstances swirling around me and anxiety begins to creep in over difficulties I can not change, I remember this story. I know for sure that God is never surprised.<\/strong> I know that He sees far beyond this moment today<\/strong>. I rest assured that He is always working on behalf of His children<\/strong>… with His ultimate goal being His Glory<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Corrie, I want to feel angry and complain. But like Betsy I need to Thank God for everything<\/strong><\/em>. He is weaving my story with expertise. He controls the smallest detail (because I asked Him too). So now – will I trust Him, even though I’m uncomfortable? Yes. And I’ll wait for a beautiful ending… an astonishing Reveal! “Help me thank You, LORD, for the ‘fleas & lice’ today.”<\/em> – Anna<\/p>\n\n\n\n
