Recently I heard of a test anyone can take to evaluate where we are on God’s timetable. Verses from the Bible offer clues revealing just how close we may be<\/em> to the End of Time<\/em>. For centuries people have speculated and wondered if their generation was the one that would see the Return of Jesus. I find it fascinating to compare God’s Word with current world news. What do you think? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The Character Test<\/span><\/strong>– untrustworthy people<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of  godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these.<\/em><\/strong>” 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Character <\/strong>in Greek- dokime’<\/em>: trustiness, proven, tried, tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. <\/strong>The Apostasy Tes<\/strong>t <\/span>– loss of Truth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,  that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the Day of the LORD has come. No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the apostasy comes first<\/em><\/strong>.”- Paul, 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    *Apostasy<\/strong> in Greek –Apostasia<\/em>: Defection from truth, forsaking of truth.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. The Lawlessness Test<\/strong> <\/span>– more wickedness!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “And because lawlessness is increased, most people\u2019s love (agape’) will become cold<\/em><\/strong>.“<\/strong> Jesus, Matthew 24:12. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    *Lawlessness<\/strong> in Greek is anomia<\/em>: sin, iniquity, wickedness.<\/span> Love<\/strong> in Greek is Agape’: charity, benevolence, unconditional love.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. The Persecution Test<\/strong> –<\/span> Christians persecuted!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cThen they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My Name.<\/em><\/strong>” Jesus, Matthew 24:9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    *Tribulation<\/strong> in Greek is thlipsis<\/em>: affliction, persecution.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. The Deception Test<\/strong> <\/span>– Many will entrap!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “And at that time many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people.”<\/em><\/strong> Jesus, Matthew 24:10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    *Fall away<\/strong> in Greek is scandalize;<\/em> entrap, trip up, offend<\/span>. Betray<\/strong> in Greek is paradidomi<\/em>: deliver up in hate, put in prison.<\/span> False Prophet<\/strong> in Greek is pseudoprophetes<\/em>: pretended foreteller, imposter.<\/span> Mislead in Greek is planao<\/em>: deceive, seduce.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Feast on God’s Word…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
