{"id":4088,"date":"2019-11-16T09:51:20","date_gmt":"2019-11-16T14:51:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forglorysake.com\/?p=4088"},"modified":"2021-12-28T14:03:52","modified_gmt":"2021-12-28T19:03:52","slug":"good-grief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forglorysake.com\/index.php\/2019\/11\/16\/good-grief\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Grief?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>God said,<\/em>\u00a0Not too <strong>murmur, grumble and complain-<\/strong> this just isn&#8217;t for His children.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t m<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">urmur<\/span>:\u00a0\u201c<strong><em>How long must I bear with this evil congregation that murmurs against me?&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Numbers 14:27<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Don&#8217;t complain:\u00a0<\/span>&#8220;<strong><em>And do not complain&#8230;&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>1 Corinthians 10:10<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">grumble &amp; argue:\u00a0<\/span><strong><em>&#8220;Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without blemish though you live in a crooked and perverse society, in which you shine as lights in the world<\/em><\/strong>&#8221;\u00a0Philippians 2:14-15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ok, no complaining&#8230; but <strong>groaning is good?<\/strong> -the aching, longing of the soul.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0&#8220;<strong><em>For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>Romans 8:22<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>&#8220;Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>Romans 8:23<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>&#8220;In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Romans 8:26<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Just what is everyone to<strong>\u00a0groan<\/strong>\u00a0about?<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8230;<strong><em>Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn, and weep. Turn your laughter into mourning and your joy into despair.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>James 4:8<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>\u202d\u201cSorrow is better than laughter, For when a face is sad (deep in thought) the heart may be happy [because it is growing in wisdom].\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Ecclesiastes\u202c \u202d7:3\u202c<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;<\/strong><em><strong>For sadness<\/strong> (over sin)<strong> as intended by God to produce a repentance that leads to salvation, leaving no regret&#8230; but worldly sadness brings about death.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>2 Corinthians 7:10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I see that God encourages me to<strong>\u00a0grieve and groan over sin in my own heart and those I love&#8230; <\/strong>remembering the battle IS won and the enemy HAS BEEN DEFEATED! Yet He does not want me complaining over daily trials He uses to mature and grow my faith.
