{"id":4069,"date":"2019-10-02T12:36:50","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T16:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forglorysake.com\/?p=4069"},"modified":"2020-09-26T17:51:38","modified_gmt":"2020-09-26T21:51:38","slug":"when-the-what-if-happens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forglorysake.com\/index.php\/2019\/10\/02\/when-the-what-if-happens\/","title":{"rendered":"When the \u201cwhat if\u201d happens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>What if<\/em> my loved one gets a terminal illness? <em>What if<\/em> I&#8217;m injured at a critical moment? <em>What if<\/em> my child becomes an addict&#8230; or goes to jail? Utterly fails? <em>What if<\/em> my child tells they are gay or not the gender I believe? <em>What if<\/em> there&#8217;s a car accident, a fire, a huge financial loss&#8230; ?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an everyday battle that rages around us &#8211; the <em>&#8220;what if&#8217;s<\/em>&#8221; of life. Some are ridiculous, some terrifyingly possible. Some actually happen! What&#8217;s a mom to do??? I can either hide in my closet and shake (<em>been there-done that<\/em>), or I can take up my SHEILD of Faith and Trust God.<\/p>\n<p>Personally I can not function in daily life with the constant strain <em>&#8220;what if&#8217;s&#8221;<\/em> &#8211; I need a break. I need peace of mind. I need rest. The only place I&#8217;ve found that break is in prayer&#8230; after I&#8217;ve cried and complained and after I&#8217;ve worried a bit. There&#8217;s a calm that comes, usually with a Psalm reading.<\/p>\n<p>The worst <em>has happened<\/em> to me and God stayed in control. It all seemed chaotic and hopeless and confusing&#8230; but there was that moment <em>He gave me peace in my heart to just Trust Him<\/em>. And as I did (trust), more came.
