I long for connection with God<\/strong>. Its a real hunger. I reach for it – seek it every morning. Sometimes it comes quickly, easily. I can feel as if I hear His voice. Other times it’s like waiting for an Amazon package to get here!<\/p>\n

Fasting however, takes me there<\/em>. Right there. I feel near, close. It’s like spiritual magic! Possibly because I’m all-in, <\/em>kinda\u00a0pointy-focused<\/em>. I can’t explain, but either way, it’s pretty incredible.<\/p>\n

Usually it starts with feeling overwhelmed and anxious <\/strong>about something… someone. A constant mental distraction. I know at that moment – it’s time to halt and change up routine. Dedicating the next 24 hours or so to fasting and seeking God <\/em>brings me peace.<\/em><\/p>\n

It’s similar to the grasping of a float when you’re tired of swimming. There’s no lead up or lead in, it’s just immediate relief. I go to sleep praying and wake up in His\u00a0presence<\/i>. More than “moving God’s hand” <\/em>I strongly believe it’s my eyes that begin to see what He’s already doing!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This habit of fasting, I’ve come to love is not some kind of manipulation for anything,<\/em> it’s purposed awareness of something<\/em>: God’s awesome moving in the Spirit!<\/em><\/strong> I’m left feeling a little wiser of His power and genuinely thankful He’s so close.<\/p>\n
