{"id":3565,"date":"2019-04-09T10:12:03","date_gmt":"2019-04-09T14:12:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/etheriedge.wordpress.com\/?p=3565"},"modified":"2020-09-21T16:37:51","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T20:37:51","slug":"grace-to-disagree","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forglorysake.com\/index.php\/2019\/04\/09\/grace-to-disagree\/","title":{"rendered":"Grace to disagree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Ephesians 2:8-9 &#8220;<strong>For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; not from works, so that NO ONE can boast.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Grace cannot be earned. There is no room for boasting. It is simply given:\u00a0<em><strong>Grace for me and grace for you<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; every day. I&#8217;ve read it and I believe it. But:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>How do I pass it on? <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>How do I give grace like that to others?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>What if I REALLY disagree with them on a topic? <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>What if we really can&#8217;t see eye to eye? <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>What does God want me to do then? <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>How do I show love like I&#8217;ve been shown?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have found a few guidelines to help me in conflict:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Be open to conversation<\/strong> &#8211; with respect<\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen for common ground <\/strong>&#8211; mouth shut<\/li>\n<li><strong>Uphold truth &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0know for sure what scripture says<\/li>\n<li><strong>Allow the other person<em> free-will<\/em> &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>I am not their conscience<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask questions &#8211; <\/strong>instead of preaching<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pray for grace continually &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0listen\u00a0to the Holy Spirit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Because of Love, I have received grace. Therefore, because of love I give it. There is no greater motivation. God says: <em><strong>Love never fails <\/strong><\/em>and<em><strong> it covers a multitude of sins. <\/strong><\/em>When I start with the love of Jesus, grace usually follows. I don&#8217;t have to defend God.
