{"id":2593,"date":"2016-05-12T09:30:17","date_gmt":"2016-05-12T13:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/etheriedge.wordpress.com\/2016\/05\/12\/what-are-you-eating\/"},"modified":"2020-05-31T11:48:27","modified_gmt":"2020-05-31T15:48:27","slug":"what-are-you-eating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forglorysake.com\/index.php\/2016\/05\/12\/what-are-you-eating\/","title":{"rendered":"What Are You Eating?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My grown kids come through the door on whatever break they&#8217;re having and wonder <em>&#8220;what on earth are you eating now,mom??&#8221;<\/em> I&#8217;m always changing and tweaking, finding something new to try in the way of nutrition and diet.<\/p>\n<p>Lately it&#8217;s \u00a0been<em> low-carb\/high protein<\/em>, no sugar (go stevia).\u00a0I&#8217;ve cut back on any veggies and fruits high in carbs, and am trying a little lean meats and low-carb dairy &#8211; always careful to avoid chemicals and hormones.\u00a0I&#8217;m also into weight-lifting (free weights) exercises, as I read around 50 yrs old we lose muscle-mass everyday!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These changes have quickly brought my weight to where I wanted it to be for our son&#8217;s wedding and is also helping me build muscle mass. One supplement I added is a powder \u00a0called <b>BCAA<\/b>\u00a0(on Amazon). Mixed with water, it has\u00a0<b>no caffeine, no sugar, no chemicals &#8211; <\/b>just\u00a0simplified protein. A super <em>pre or post workout drink<\/em> that aids in muscle recovery. The watermelon flavor is the best.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been: vegetarian, fat-free, whole foodie, vegan, gluten-free and now <em>low-glycemic-index.<\/em> Whatever plan I&#8217;m currently on &#8211; is the one I like best. Next year might bring something new depending on what I feel my body needs. The important thing is I stay aware of\u00a0<b>general good nutrition<\/b>, with\u00a0<b>careful observation<\/b>\u00a0of how my body is reacting.
