{"id":2173,"date":"2015-12-08T09:00:50","date_gmt":"2015-12-08T14:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/etheriedge.wordpress.com\/?p=2173"},"modified":"2020-12-13T16:57:57","modified_gmt":"2020-12-13T21:57:57","slug":"marinating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forglorysake.com\/index.php\/2015\/12\/08\/marinating\/","title":{"rendered":"Marinating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I pray and pray and see nothing happening, I can get so frustrated. <em>&#8220;Move, God, move!&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0&#8230;I&#8217;ve known Him for years, and I still long for progress reports from His side. It&#8217;s not that I want &#8211;\u00a0<em>Poof, you get your wish,<\/em>\u00a0But I so desire acknowledgment. Still, God makes me wait.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marinate &#8211; &#8220;to soak, soften, cleanse, and extract some elements.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marinating is about <em>adding flavor, soaking to bring out the best in a tough piece of meat<\/em>. As I wonder why He makes me wait&#8230; I see that using time, <em>the time in between<\/em>, softens up any hardness of heart. <strong><em>Walk with Me by faith, child, NOT by sight.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Waiting isn&#8217;t pointless. It&#8217;s not even that God needs more time to work out the details. I assume more than any other sin God wants to extract <strong>pride<\/strong> from me:\u00a0<em>I know best,\u00a0<\/em><i>I can figure this out. I can do it my way. Surely, if I were God, I would&#8230; <\/i>Ugh.The waiting has a purpose<i>.\u00a0<\/i>I&#8217;m the one who is changing, softening, being purified and flavored with good things.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<em>LORD, as You make me wait on You to move, have Your way.
