A fresh start with new eyes and open hearts. Sweetness&#8230; and yet there&#8217;s pain to be surrendered daily. Pain of past betrayal and unexplainable behavior. Grief over \u00a0just how <em>the enemy<\/em> can twist a person and those around them into such excruciating contortions.<\/p>\n<p>Beautiful recovering souls surround daily. They stay in our home. Travel on vacation. We watch them search for new identity and a way back to family. We see them struggle between the joy of a new life and the grief from all their past chaos. \u00a0Some have heavy consequences they&#8217;ll carry forever.<\/p>\n<p>I feel for them. My heart breaks for them. It must be some of what God has felt for me. Sadness over my rebellion and the suffering that follows. In His mercy, in His grace, He keeps helping me sort through my memories, deal with the inevitable guilt and take up a new perspective:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>My soul wounded,\u00a0Shot thru the heart.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>The question remains when did this start?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>Our purpose was clear. Assurance we felt, Yet outcomes we dreamed of had NOT been dealt.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>How did it happen?\u00a0How can it be?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>A foundation laid is no guarantee?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>I feel I&#8217;ve been dooped,\u00a0I&#8217;m hurt through and through.\u00a0It works out for some, but not for a few?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>Where&#8217;d we go wrong?\u00a0What didn&#8217;t we do?\u00a0Oh God, can&#8217;t my efforts be blessed by You Too?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>Our beginning was grand!\u00a0Our focus so sure,\u00a0Then somewhere along courses veered from the pure.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>Dear God of the heart, dear Lord of the soul, somehow heal us&#8230; and please make us whole.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em><strong>Because of Your mercy, turn now your face, in spite of our weaknesses pour out Your grace. &#8211;<\/strong><\/em>Anna 2012<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I still have a ways to go, but I&#8217;m learning to enjoy the <strong>now<\/strong> and leave the past to Him. I&#8217;m learning to love each of my children for <em>who<\/em> God created them to be. To see them as His own unique design. <em><strong>&#8220;Do <\/strong><strong><em>not<\/em> lean on your own understanding&#8221; <\/strong><\/em>Proverbs 3:5, hums in my head as I recite,<em><strong> &#8220;&#8230;Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> Romans 10:11<\/p>\n<p><em>He&#8217;s got this&#8230; and me&#8230; and them&#8230; and the whole big messy world in His hands!<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>ForGlorySake!<\/strong> <em>-Anna<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"642\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forglorysake.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG_3094.jpg?resize=640%2C642&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4979\"\/><figcaption>pull up a chair!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most wonderful rewards that follows a prodigal&#8217;s return is restored relationship.
