God weeps?

I’ve been reading through Jeremiah -“the weeping prophet”- and realized from various commentaries that it is ambiguous at best regarding who exactly is weeping!

What if it is God who’s doing the crying (like a high-pitched flute, Jeremiah 48:36) and not just His prophet? His sorrow over the sins of various nations and their refusal to listen again and again as He sent words to repent, what a thought.

One I can not get out of my mind as I walk among so many nations represented on this current trip to Spain. Languages, people, cultures that all differ from mine. Religious beliefs… moral beliefs. My heart aches for anyone who does not know the Way, the Truth and the Life.

I find myself praying constantly for the souls we pass. God knows every name… every birth… every death… every moment between. We are His amazing walking-art.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬

And

“For by Him (Messiah) all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him.” Colossians‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭

Every soul matters to God! Every soul has a purpose in Him. Every soul is loved, cherished and was purchased with an extraordinary price. I can only imagine that God weeps (like a mournful harp, Isaiah 26:11) when they don’t turn quickly to Him.

How beautiful to ponder the music of His tears over all of His creation. ❤️❤️❤️

    Such truth.
May we weep for the lost.
People are changed because of your prayers even tho’ they are strangers you may never talk to.
    Enjoy your trip.
