Heard, Safe, Saved

“I love you, GOD — You make me strong. GOD is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my Rescuing Knight. My God—the high crag where I run for dear life, hiding behind the boulders, safe in the granite hideout.”‭‭Psalm‬ ‭18:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬
This week -in the midst of my own challenges with my husband’s health, I met a woman facing more. A new cancer for her husband, more advanced and aggressive than the last. Just when they thought they were in the clear, it’s come back for another battle.
This week -while I wrestled with my own heart over our children growing up and moving forward, my dear friend’s love and care for 2 little ones (not born to her but still God-given) turned gut-wrenching and tragic in a matter of days.
Where is God?
I remember hospital days during David’s many preceecures/surgeries… waiting, I’d turn again and again to Psalm 18. A pledge of God’s faithfulness. It never got old. He was awake, He was aware, He had a plan.
“A hostile world! I call to GOD, I cry to God to help me. From His palace He hears my call; my cry brings me right into His presence— a private audience!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭18:6‬ ‭MSG‬‬
I had His ear day or night – today just as much as back then. He cares for me and mine as much as these and their’s! He’s my refuge and your’s. Call to Him. Tell Him all about it and wait to see what He will do.
Sometimes the answers have been surprising. Sometimes really scary, but I can testify He has been faithful to listen and hold me throughout everything!
“But me, He caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; He pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but GOD stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!”‭‭ Psalm‬ ‭18:16-19‬ ‭MSG‬‬
After praying for all these issues this morning, I read it through again. Now – “I sing to GOD, the Praise-Lofty, and find myself safe and saved.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭18:3‬ ‭MSG‬‬
ForGlorySake! -Anna
